Birth, Life and Death

Birth being the beginning of life, is celebrated. Being born in a country like India rich in diversity, you will find people from varied walks of lives and diverse tradition. Then there are ones with the ancient and distinct ways to celebrate the birth of a child. And then life happens and an individual goes through all kinds of events in life. Celebrating the ups and coping with the downs. Dreaming for a better life each day Sehnsucht, as the Germans call it, till there is no more days to dream for that’s the end of life as we know it. A death of a person is looked upon in different cultures in different ways. Death is mourned by a few as it is the end of  life of a who was loved and who lived a life and also a realization of how important this short stay is for each individual. Being alive is humbling opportunity which is destined to only a few of us. And only a couple of us make this quick stay worth the journey. There are few people believe in mourning a person’s death in peace and quiet and let them pass to the heavens in peace to respect Death, the truth of life.
And then there are a few other people who believe in celebrating a person’s Death because they believe a person’s Death is a completion of a Human life. It is the future path to the soul of the person. They believe their soul goes to a better place. It is like a level advancement. And it is celebrated like a festival. And there is celebration and firecrackers and the beating of the Dhol, an Indian drum. The heart of a person is described Henry Wadsworth Longfellow beats like a muffled drum as  through the journey of life to provide music for this journey. And when this muffled drum is muted the rest of the acquaintances of this soul on this  galactic  planet, which homed this soul, beats the drum and burst the fireworks as loud as it can be heard till the heaven gates. A person may question all this banter and believe in letting the man pass in peace but it is the completion of life. A level succeeded. Advancement to the next level. Death. The only certainty in life. The truth.
