We packed a basket for our little afternoon picnic. We had a packed a few sandwiches, ketchup, a book (for me) and a nice picnic mat. We had not yet planned on where we were going to have our little private picnic for two. Matt and I were the people who dint believe in plans. We thought we'd drive out of the city and find a secluded place for us. And today was just the perfect summer day.
It's been a busy month for both of us. We haven't had as much of a time to a say proper 'Hi' to each other. Our 'Hi'and 'Hello' lasts for hours. It is what that built our friendship. We have always been able to talk for hours even if it was only for a simple 'Hi'. He has always kept me interested in what he has to say. I have always spoken my mind with him, just him. Maybe I always was attracted to him. But we did start off as friends. He was too charming, sweet, nice and good looking for us to not date. A girl always wonders why did he pick me to be his and I sure as hell do all the time. He was the best guy I knew.
We had missed each other. We needed a day out in the fresh summer air. We got dressed out to his car. He always drove cause it is how it has always been. He drives even if we take my car. And I love it just that way.
You know how when you are in love the sweet little things matter so much. It is sweet. The way he just smiles at you from across the room. The way he touches you, just holds you gently, when you are watching TV or in the car or whenever you are together. Girls love that. I know I do.
Coming to back to our noon picnic, he was wearing black shorts and a plaid shirt. And I have always loved plaid shirts on people. And I think Matt pulls it off the best. I wore a pair of blue jeans and a white t-shirt. We both have always been casual dressers, never too dressy.
We were on road by 1.05PM. The Sun was bright and warm. And the Air was blowing in breezes. We had our window glasses down. And there was a pop song on the radio that we did not recognize. There are numerous pop songs releasing each day, one cannot keep up. But Matt and I have always enjoyed our music. We love going to concerts together or just blasting it up music in our cars.
We drove for an hour to leave the city behind us and reach the calm, beautiful, less traffic country side. I love the country. It is laid back and calm just like me. And lots of free running green space.
We were in the car for another half hour before coming across an estuary. We had to park and cop a squat. And enjoy our picnic, our sandwiches, our view and each other mostly.
